- Intterra Tools Overview to view and see where to learn more about dozens of possible tools. Tool availability varies significantly, and depends on client settings and user permissions; it's best to know where to learn more.
Proficiencies
- Log in and launch Intterra.
- If your system has the Incidents Tool open when launched, select an incident and zoom to it.
- Navigate the map - pan, zoom, zoom to your current location.
- Use basemap selector to change basemap and opacity.

Navigate the Manage Layers menu to adjust what you see on the map.
- Open a nested (grouped) layer.
- Turn layers of interest on and off.
- View and manage sublayers if available.
- Understand the three reasons why a layer may not display on the map when toggled on (e.g., structures or home risk or lightning).

Use the Show Legend menu to view the legend of a visible layer (e.g., wildfire incident).
- Use the Search Places tool to locate an address or landmark and zoom to it.

Click on a map feature (i.e., fire line) to open the Info Panel and receive more details.
- Select from the list of features in the vicinity of where you clicked.
- View and scroll through the details.
- View the GPS coordinates for that point in Degrees Decimal Minutes (DDM) format.
- Use the Tools Menu to...
- Measure a distance and area.
- View a list of incidents in the Incidents Tool and zoom to the incident of interest.
- Change to a different workspace to access more layers and tools for a specific workflow, such as training or preplans.

Navigate the Briefing Mode.

Select an area of interest - National, GACC, state, local and view current summary and incident information filtered for that extent.
- At the national extent, sort the list of incidents by acres and the number of homes threatened.
- Select an incident from the list to zoom to the location and see the detailed incident information.
