Workflow for Active Shooter/Hostile Event Response
Driven by the NFPA 3000: Standard for an Active Shooter/Hostile Event Response, we have reviewed the tasks for all Fire and EMS personnel and provided a service that allows users to preplan potential locations to satisfy those tasks in warm and cold zones. All symbols adhere to a NWCG or NAPSG standard.
Preplanning
This set of features is meant to work with the Structure Preplan workflow for pre-incident planning. During a response, these features can coordinate with incident editing to supply real-time information to your team.
Warm Zone
To assist with warm zone tasks, a user can add a Casualty Collection Point. There will be attributes to store the number of potential casualties in the area, the capacity of the location, and the resources needed.
Cold Zone
To assist with cold zone tasks, a user can add the following features: Incident Command Post, Entry and Exit points, Unimproved Landing Areas, and Ambulance Corridors.
- The Incident Command Post will label the type on the map: Unified, Fire, EMS, or Law.
- Entry and Exit Points will have space to collect any unlocking procedures.
- Unimproved Landing Areas can be added to indicate victims who require air evacuation.
- Ambulance Corridors will be for EMS Transport.
Incident
During a response, there are many available features in the Incident Editing workflow that could be of use: Incident points can be added to coordinate information including Safety Hazards, Public Information, Evacuation Shelters, Patient Triage, Patient Treatment, and EMS Transport; Operational Areas including Evacuation Zones can be added; HazMat zones (hot, warm, and cold) could be used; Road Closures can also be of use.
