Here is a list of updates and enhancements made to Intterra's Field Tool App in September of 2022
For the User
Users will notice improved device location when adding features using the 'Use Current Location" (tracking) and location sharing. Not only is the location more accurate, but users will rarely experience the 'Location breadcrumb ignored due to imprecise geolocation' situation (right). - Update to the login screen to view password and warn of empty account name or password.
- Repaired symbology for 3 incident mapping line feature types that did not display in the Field Tool.
Backend
- Update to the SDK to support TLS 1.2 & TLS 1.2+ protocol that provides end-to-end security of data sent between the Field Tool and Intterra's servers over the Internet.
- Updates required to re-post the Android version of the Field Tool to the Google Play store. Provide the Apple store with App Privacy information.
Important: It's important, when using the Field Tool app, to make sure that background location access is set to "Allow all the time" (Android) or "Always" (iOS) in your device settings. Android users may not see a pop-up prompt to change settings. Click here for more information.
