Lesson 2b: Basic Incident Mapping and Editing the Map in Intterra (Web)

This lesson is intended for users who will be mapping incidents in Intterra.

Proficiencies
  • Select a workspace for practice.  (Some systems have a Training Workspace.)
  • Zoom to the practice area.
  • Make sure the incident layers are toggled on.
  • Map an incident (for users who will be mapping incidents).  
    • Add a wildfire incident point.
    • Name the incident and save.
    • Add an incident point - Incident Command Post (ICP).
    • Select the appropriate incident name to (associate) if available, and save.
    • Add a wildfire perimeter.
    • Select the appropriate incident name to (associate) if available, and save.
    • Add a wildfire line - dozer.
    • Select the appropriate incident name to (associate) if available, and save.
    • Add an incident line - aerial hazard using vertex editing mode. 
    • Select the appropriate incident name to (associate) if available, and save.
    • Add an incident label point.
    • Type in label text.
    • Select the appropriate incident name to (associate) if available, and save.
  • Edit the incident map.
    • Edit the ICP point and change its location, and then save.
    • Edit the wildfire perimeter to change its location and save.
    • Edit the wildfire dozer line to delete it.
  • Use the Incidents Tool.
    • Find your incident and zoom to it.
    • Find and fit any mapped features that are not named or associated with the incident - Have your default account name @ date.  
      • Zoom to the feature.
      • Edit and change the name and save.
      • Refresh the Incident Tool and review.

Instructor notes: 

  • Not all systems have a training workspace and training incidents.  If this is the case, determine a different editable layer and the appropriate workspace for practice.
